Who we are

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the independent global environmental disclosure system for capital markets, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. Founded in 2000, CDP pioneered using capital markets and corporate procurement to motivate companies to disclose their environmental impacts, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests.

What we do

Over 640 financial institutions with more than $127 trillion in assets work with CDP to ask companies to disclose key environmental information. In 2025, these Capital Markets Signatories requested over 31,500 companies to disclose their environmental impacts.

These requesting investors and banks can access companies’ responses and use CDP’s data on climate change, deforestation and water security to inform decision making, engage with companies, reduce risks, and identify opportunities.
