Euronext and Nord Pool, the European power exchange, have launched a dedicated Nordic and Baltic power futures market.
This initiative responds to the market’s demand for a long‑standing, robust and sustainable market infrastructure, rooted in the Nordic region and focused on well‑functioning power futures trading.
Euronext Nord Pool Power Futures offer cash‑settled futures across all industry‑standard maturities on the Nordic System Price and Electricity Price Area Differential (EPAD) contracts for the Nordic and Baltic regions. The underlying Nordic System Price and SDAC Nordic bidding‑zone spot indices are provided by Nord Pool.
Trading takes place on Euronext’s Optiq® trading platform, and all contracts are cleared through Euronext Clearing.
Integration of Nasdaq’s Nordic power futures business
Euronext has acquired Nasdaq’s Nordic power futures business.
All open positions previously cleared by Nasdaq Clearing are now fully integrated into Euronext Clearing as part of the transition to the Euronext Nord Pool Power Futures market.
