Veidekke ASA
Veidekke has been awarded a contract to construct an approximately 600-metre
-long access tunnel for the new Yellow Line on the Stockholm metro. The project,
commissioned by the Region Stockholm administration, is an execution contract
with a value of approximately SEK 150 million. Construction is scheduled for
completion in 2028.
"Veidekke looks forward to contributing to the expansion of the Stockholm metro
system. The project aligns well with our expertise in delivering complex
underground works," says Jenny Johansson of Veidekke Anläggning Öst.
The scope of work includes construction of an access tunnel through
approximately 600 metres of soil and rock leading to the new Årstaberg metro
station. Following establishment of the tunnel portal, the tunnel will be
excavated through rock down to the new station. The contract also includes rock
excavation works for parts of the station area, with an option for additional
excavation.
The access tunnel will serve as a temporary entrance to Årstaberg station, which
will be a key interchange on the Yellow Line, where passengers can transfer
between metro, commuter rail, light rail, and buses.
The contract is included in the Q2 2026 order book.
