Orkla Foods Strengthens Its Danish Bakery Platform Through Acquisition of TC Brød
17 Jun 2026 08:45 CEST
Issuer
ORKLA ASA
Orkla Foods has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the
Danish bakery company TC Brød ApS. The acquisition strengthens Orkla Foods'
bakery platform in Denmark and is carried out by Orkla Denmark, part of Orkla
Foods.
TC Brød is a family-owned Danish bakery company with production in Krogager.
Over more than 35 years, the company has built a strong position within
laminated dough and seasonal bake off products and is recognised for high
quality, flexible production, and close customer relationships.
In 2025, TC Brød generated revenues of approximately DKK 116 million. The
company employs around 30 people and serves leading retail and foodservice
customers in Denmark.
Investing in Orkla Foods' Growth Platforms
At the 2025 Orkla Capital Markets Update, Orkla Foods CEO Aku Vikström
presented the company's growth platform, consisting of frozen meals, sauces,
and dilutables, as well as ten local diamonds, which are local positions
crucial to Orkla Foods' success and future.
One of the ten local diamonds is Easyfood in Denmark, and with the acquisition
of TC Brød, Orkla Foods builds upon its existing bakery position in Denmark,
where Easyfood has established a broad platform across retail and foodservice.
"This acquisition reflects our focus on developing strong local platforms in
categories where we already have clear positions. Bakery in Denmark is one of
those areas, and TC Brød brings complementary capabilities that expand our
offering and support further growth over time," says Aku Vikström, CEO of
Orkla Foods.
Enhancing The Combined Offering for Customers
Because there is limited overlap between Easyfood and TC Brød, the combination
expands the overall offering rather than duplicating existing products. It
also provides immediate access to production capacity that can support future
growth and enable Orkla Foods to offer a broader and more adaptable range of
bakery products to customers.
TC Brød will continue to operate as an independent company with its current
management and daily operations, while working closely with Orkla Denmark and
Easyfood on development and commercial opportunities.
"TC Brød has been built over many years with a strong focus on quality and
customer relationships. We are proud of that and grateful to the many
employees, customers, and partners who have helped shape the company. With
Orkla Denmark, we gain a new owner who shares our values and supports the
continued development of TC Brød with respect for its history and foundation,"
says Andreas Horsted Christensen, CEO of TC Brød.
The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. The
transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q2 2027, following
approval by the Danish competition authorities.
