Veidekke: Road maintenance contracts worth NOK 1.5 billion
10 Jun 2026 15:12 CEST
Issuer
Veidekke ASA
Veidekke has secured four new contracts for the operation and maintenance of
national and county roads. In addition, options to extend two ongoing contracts
have been exercised. The total contract value amounts to NOK 1.5 billion
excluding VAT.
"This year's tender rounds have now been completed, and we are very satisfied
with the outcome. The new contracts are all in areas where we have been
responsible in recent years, so we know them well and have a solid understanding
of what lies ahead. We are also pleased that the contract periods for two of our
ongoing contracts, which were approaching completion, have been extended by
another year. This indicates that others share our satisfaction, and we
sincerely appreciate the continued trust," says Kjell Otto Bragstad, Director of
Veidekke Drift og vedlikehold.
New contracts from September 1:
Client Area Duration
Nordland County Municipality Salten 2026-2031
Trøndelag County Municipality Fosen North 2026-2031
Trøndelag County Municipality Fosen South 2026-2031
Trøndelag County Municipality Steinkjer 2026-2031
Following these awards, Veidekke will be responsible for the operation and
maintenance of approximately 13,000 kilometres of national and county roads,
including pedestrian and cycle paths. Annual revenue from this part of
Veidekke's operations amounts to around NOK 2 billion excluding VAT.
- Together with our clients and local partners, we will do our utmost to ensure
that road users experience safe and reliable driving conditions - both summer
and winter - across our 24 contract areas, ranging from Finnmark in the north to
Agder in the south, Bragstad concludes.
The maintance contracts include routine operational tasks and minor maintenance
work on the road network to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow, as well as
to help maintain the desired service life of the roads. Key activities include
snow ploughing, sanding and salting, tunnel and sign cleaning, operation of
green areas, ditch cleaning, ensuring proper drainage, road and rest area
cleaning, and emergency preparedness for accidents and extreme weather
conditions.
The contracts and exercised options are included in Veidekke's order backlog in
the second quarter of 2026.
