Veidekke: New Residential Contract for OBOS in Oslo
04 Jun 2026 11:07 CEST
Issuer
Veidekke ASA
Veidekke has signed a contract with OBOS to carry out demolition works and
convert the iconic glass halls in Nydalen, Oslo, from a former printing facility
into 153 apartments and commercial premises. The contract is a design and build
contract with a value of just over NOK 600 million, excluding VAT.
"We would like to sincerely thank OBOS for this assignment. This is a highly
exciting project where we will preserve most of the concrete structures in the
existing halls, thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions. We also greatly
appreciate that the project has been developed in accordance with the
requirements of the EU taxonomy," says Rune Andersstuen, Head of Department at
Veidekke Bygg Oslo.
In the heart of Nydalen, the former Schibsted printing facility will be
transformed into a vibrant residential community and meeting place. The iconic
halls will be converted into 153 apartments, ranging from one-bedroom units of
34 sqm to four-bedroom apartments of 140 sqm. In addition, the project will
feature an active ground floor with amenities and commercial activities. Between
the halls, "Trykkerihagen" will be established as an attractive and sheltered
courtyard for residents. A large public park with areas for both activity and
relaxation will also be developed south of the buildings.
"We are truly looking forward to starting construction of the first phase of the
project. It has been a long journey, but we can now finally realize the plans.
Once completed, the development will include 700 homes, commercial premises for
customer-oriented businesses, and a long-awaited park. The Printworks will
become a vibrant and inclusive neighbourhood where everyone can thrive -not
least children and young people, who will have access to a large activity centre
within the former printing halls," says Ingunn Andersen Randa, Executive Vice
President at OBOS.
Demolition works are about to commence, construction will begin during the
summer, and planned occupancy is scheduled for autumn 2028. Read more about the
project here.
Construction work is already underway, with completion and handover planned
towards the end of 2028. Read more about the project

The contract is included in Veidekke's order book for Q2 2026.
