AF Bygg Väst AB, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, has been awarded the contract by
the City of Gothenburg’s real estate administration to carry out the
refurbishment and extension of Frölundabadet in Gothenburg. The contract value
is SEK 253 million excluding VAT.
The project will be carried out as a turnkey contract and includes the
renovation, remodelling and extension of the existing swimming facility. The
facility
was completed in 1980 and forms part of Frölunda Kulturhus, a building of
cultural
and historical significance. The works include new swimming pools, refurbished
and
expanded changing rooms, new saunas, toilets and technical rooms, as well as a
new slide tower with a water slide.
“We are pleased with the confidence shown by the City of Gothenburg in
entrusting
us with the refurbishment and extension of Frölundabadet. It is a complex
project
located in an environment of cultural and historical value, where our experience
with swimming facilities and other technically demanding buildings will be
highly
useful,” says Bård Frydenlund, EVP, AF Gruppen Sweden.
Construction is scheduled to start in March 2026 with planned completion in
March 2028.
