Plattsburgh, NY – February 27, 2026 – Norsk Titanium today announced successful
qualification and transition to structural production of titanium components
developed in collaboration with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc.
(GA-ASI) using its proprietary Rapid Plasma Deposition® (RPD®) technology.
The qualified parts are advancing into implementation across GA-ASI Unmanned
Aircraft Systems (UAS) products. The move from development to production
represents an important commercial milestone, reinforcing the industrial
maturity and scalability of Norsk Titanium’s additive manufacturing platform in
mission-critical aerospace applications.
RPD® enables the production of aerospace-grade titanium components with
significantly reduced material waste, lower energy consumption, reduced overall
production costs as compared to traditional forgings, with substantially shorter
lead times. These advantages support stronger supply chain resilience and
improved capital efficiency for defense customers.
“This milestone with GA-ASI demonstrates the growing market acceptance of RPD®
as a production-ready solution for structural aerospace components,” said
Nicholas Mayer Vice President Product Management Norsk Titanium. “Progressing
into qualified production validates both the technical performance and the
commercial scalability of our technology in the defense sector.”
The advancement strengthens Norsk Titanium’s position in the high-value defense
and aerospace market and supports continued adoption of industrialized additive
manufacturing as a cost-efficient alternative to conventional titanium
production.

About Norsk Titanium
Norsk Titanium is a global leader in metal 3D printing, innovating the future of
metal manufacturing by enabling a paradigm shift to a clean and sustainable
manufacturing process. With its proprietary Rapid Plasma Deposition® (RPD®)
technology and installed production capacity to generate annual revenues of
approximately USD 300 million, Norsk Titanium offers cost-efficient 3D printing
of value-added metal parts to a large addressable market. RPD® technology uses
significantly less raw material, energy, and time than traditional
energy-intensive forming methods, presenting customers with an opportunity to
better manage input costs, logistics, and environmental impact. RPD® printed
parts are already flying on commercial aircraft, and Norsk Titanium has gained
significant traction with large defense and industrial customers.
