Bergen Carbon Solutions AS
(Bergen, 19 February 2026): Bergen Carbon Solutions AS (BCS, OSE:BCS)
Bergen Carbon Solutions AS (BCS), the pure-play carbon capture and utilization
(CCU) company, today provides an operational update and financial results for
the fourth quarter and full year 2025.
BCS has delivered solid progress throughout 2025, driven by technological
innovation and improved financial discipline. The company made a major leap in
its core technology, now operating from a more stable and repeatable process
platform that enables greater control over electrolysis and carbon powder
quality. This development marks a crucial milestone, allowing BCS to shift focus
from experimentation to systematic testing in battery applications.
BCS has also strengthened its financial position, notably reducing burn rate and
enhancing cost discipline compared to prior years. With additional grants from
Innovation Norway, the company is well-positioned for the next phase of growth.
Global trends, including rising geopolitical tensions and an increased emphasis
on local supply chains, have highlighted the growing importance of sustainable,
regionally based material production.
As a direct result of our technological progress during 2025, the priority for
2026 will be to produce larger test volumes with consistent quality, external
validation, and strengthen collaboration with key industrial and academic
partners in Asia and Europe. The establishment of an international Advisory
Board has further bolstered BCS’s capabilities and readiness for industrial
partnerships.
Reflecting on the year, CEO Odd Strømsnes states, “We exit the year as a more
robust company, with a stable technology platform, improved financial position,
and a clear and executable plan for the next phase of development.”
