Biomethane Station Data January 2026

11 February 2026 -- ReFuels N.V., a leading European supplier of renewable
biomethane (Bio-CNG) for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs),
today published Bio-CNG station data for January 2026.
* A total of 5,591 tonnes of Bio-CNG were dispensed from CNG Fuels' 16 public
access refuelling stations, up 14% from 4,921 tonnes in January 2025 (15
stations)
* Average daily dispensed volume reached 180 tonnes, compared to 159 tonnes
per day in the year-earlier period
* A daily average of 2,237 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an
increase of 15% year-on-year
* Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 27.5
pence, up 8% compared with 25.4 pence in January 2025
"January saw continued solid utilisation across our station network. Demand
fundamentals for biomethane remain supportive, and we are well-positioned to
deliver further volume growth with a well-established network on key UK routes
and additional stations under development," said Philip Fjeld, CEO and
co-founder of ReFuels.
In addition to Bio-CNG dispensing, CNG Fuels generates revenue from sales of
Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs). The average RTFC price in
December was 27.5 pence, up from 25.4 pence in January 2025. RTFCs are awarded
at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilo of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel
suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel
Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling
stations, currently operating 16 public access Bio-CNG stations strategically
located on major UK trucking routes. Two additional stations are under
development -- one in South Wales and one in Swindon -- to further expand
network capacity.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten
working days after the end of each month.
