Western Bulk is pleased to announce the appointment of a highly experienced
Lumber & Projects team based in Bergen. This marks an important step in the
continued expansion of the company’s commercial platform and its focus on
developing strong niche capabilities alongside its core bulk operations. The new
desk will commence operations on 1 May 2026.
Attracting complementary skills and networks has been a key strategic priority
for Western Bulk. The newly appointed team brings extensive hands-on experience
within lumber, project and breakbulk cargoes, further strengthening Western
Bulk’s ability to serve customers.
The team consists of Henrik Lahn-Johannessen and Thomas Johansen on the
commercial side, together with Kjell Magne Veka in operations, combining strong
commercial judgement with deep expertise in complex cargo execution.
“We are excited to welcome Henrik, Thomas and Kjell Magne to Western Bulk and to
explore the synergies between our bulk and project business. Their expertise and
market knowledge fit very well with our strategy of building a diversified
commercial platform, where specialist teams can thrive while benefiting from the
scale, systems, and global reach of Western Bulk,” says Torbjørn Gjervik, CEO of
Western Bulk.
