6 January 2026 -- ReFuels N.V., a leading European supplier of renewable
biomethane (Bio-CNG) for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs),
today published Bio-CNG station data for December and full-year 2025.
* A total of 5,553 tonnes of Bio-CNG were dispensed from CNG Fuels' 16 public
access refuelling stations, up 14% from 4,858 tonnes in December 2024 (15
stations)
* For the full year 2025, 63,457 tonnes were dispensed, up 15% from 55,012
tonnes in 2024
* Average daily dispensed volume reached 179 tonnes, compared to 157 tonnes
per day in the year-earlier period
* A daily average of 2,237 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an
increase of 15% year-on-year
* At the end of December 2025, 156 of the vehicles were the larger 6x2 models,
up 179% year-on-year
* Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 28.6
pence, up 17% compared with 24.4 pence in December 2024
"Biomethane is the most scalable and commercially viable solution for
immediate decarbonisation of heavy transport, offering lower fuel costs
without subsidies. In 2025, this was reflected in continued strong volume
growth driven by more Bio-CNG trucks on the road, including initial deliveries
of the larger 6x2 trucks. Our customers, such as the UK's number one bakery
brand Warburtons, continue to expand their biomethane fuelled fleets, and with
three new high-capacity stations set to open in 2026, we are building on this
momentum," said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.
In addition to Bio-CNG dispensing, CNG Fuels generates revenue from sales of
Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs). The average RTFC price in
December was 28.6 pence, up from 24.4 pence in December 2024. RTFCs are
awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilo of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold
to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable
Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling
stations, currently operating 16 public access Bio-CNG stations strategically
located on major UK trucking routes. Two additional stations are under
development -- one in South Wales and one in Swindon -- to further expand
network capacity.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten
working days after the end of each month.
