In November, 4 million passengers travelled through Avinor’s airports. This is
an increase of 1.5 percent compared with November last year. So far this year,
the number of travellers has risen by 3.3 percent.

Avinor had 2.5 million domestic travellers in November. This represents growth
of 0.7 percent compared with November last year. Year to date, the growth is 2.9
percent.

International traffic accounted for 1.5 million passengers in November, an
increase of 2.6 percent from November last year. So far this year, the increase
is 3.7 percent.

“The smallest airports continue to grow the most. The growth is driven by
tourism and increased subsidisation of PSO routes, which lowers ticket prices,”
says Gaute S. Riise, Director of Traffic Development at Avinor. “The four major
airports—Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger—are increasing by a combined 1
percent, while the 39 smaller airports are increasing by 3 percent.”

Moderate growth in aircraft movements
When it comes to aircraft movements, 50,000 commercial flights were registered
in November – the same number as last year. In total, there have been 584,000
aircraft movements so far this year, an increase of 1.9 percent compared with
the previous year.

“November is traditionally a quiet month in aviation, but the figures still show
a positive trend. International traffic continues to drive growth with a 2.6
percent increase, while domestic traffic remains stable,” says Gaute R.
Skallerud. “The smaller airports are seeing the strongest growth, driven by
tourism and lower fares on PSO routes, with a total increase of 3 percent
compared with 1 percent at the four largest airports.”

Drone figures for November
“There is a 15 percent increase in the number of drone flights compared with
November 2024,” says Nikola Tufekcic, Head of Unmanned Aviation at Avinor. “Even
in a month with more challenging weather and cold periods in Norway affecting
drone operations, these are high figures that confirm that drone activity
continues to grow during the winter months.”

Figures for November: 1,985 flights, Compared with November 2024: +15%, Year to
date compared with last year: +30%
