Toshiba orders IDEX Biometric card platform for Japanese market
13 Nov 2025 07:30 CET
Issuer
IDEX Biometrics ASA
Toshiba Corporation has placed its first production order for biometric card
platform from IDEX Biometrics, marking the commercialization of our multi-year
partnership in Japan.
IDEX cards eliminate passwords and PINs by using fingerprint authentication
directly on the card. This Zero Trust security approach stops security and
identity breaches before they happen while making access faster and easier for
users.
Japan's Identity and Access Management market is worth billions and growing
14.3% annually, driven by increasing cyber threats and digital transformation
needs.
"We're excited to see Toshiba launch with our technology," said Anders
Storbråten, CEO of IDEX Biometrics. "This partnership shows how organizations
can reset their security with biometric cards that users actually want to
use."
