Veidekke: To execute critical construction contract on Gothenburg's West Link

Veidekke has been commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration to
execute a so-called critical contract on the Korsvägen section of Gothenburg's
West Link rail project. The contract will be carried out over a limited period,
on an ongoing basis.

The Swedish Transport Administration recently terminated the agreement with the
contractor building the Korsvägen section of the West Link. Veidekke has now
been commissioned to protect the work site and perform critical production in
the Korsvägen, Skår and Almedal part of the section.

"We are proud to have once again earned the trust of the Swedish Transport
Administration to enter into an existing project for a limited period of time.
Our joint focus is now on executing the work needed to minimise impact on
stakeholders, and on performing to a standard that creates the best possible
conditions for the project's completion through future contracts," says Fredrik
Indevall, Regional Manager at Veidekke Anläggning Väst.

Work starts immediately, by establishing a joint take on the status of the
project, on which works to be carried out and on how to prioritise for a gradual
takeover of the site. The work aims to complete certain parts for handover to
stakeholders, including Gothenburg Municipality and Liseberg. The work will be
carried out as an execution contract with invoicing on an ongoing basis. As the
exact scope of work is not yet known, the scope of the contract has yet to be
determined.

The Korsvägen section of the West Link tunnel is just over three kilometers
long, extending from Landala via Korsvägen, Jakobsdal and Skår and connecting to
existing tracks in Almedal. Here, the underground construction will include a
station with platforms, a middle level with business premises and a bicycle
garage, and three exits.
