New Sources Energy N.V. is removed from EURONEXT’s penalty bench and is ready to attract financing supported by a new Green Finance Framework
Amsterdam, 2 June 2025 - New Sources Energy N.V. (New Sources or the Company) announced that it has been removed from Euronext’s penalty bench as of today. Leonard Vereecken, New Sources’ CEO, stated that Euronext Amsterdam confirmed this decision earlier. The first step towards this positive outcome was taken in late 2023 by engaging KPMG Accountants N.V. as its auditor. The decisive step was an unqualified auditor’s report on the financial statements for the financial year of 2024. This development marks a fresh start for New Sources signalling that the Company is once again ready for business.
Over the past year, the new management team has made substantial efforts to engage with promising investment opportunities and has focused on transactions to acquire valuable energy transition assets positioning the Company for future growth. To realise its business plan New Sources has made preparations for a large capital raise. Encouraging discussions for business collaborations and partnerships with renewable energy companies and private equity funds are currently in progress. To date, New Sources has signed five letters of intent and enters 2025 with a strong pipeline of promising business opportunities and partnerships.
To attract debt financing for its renewable energy and energy efficiency investments New Sources has created a Green Finance Framework. This Framework makes sure clear criteria are established for the use of proceeds of the renewable energy and energy efficiency investments, increasing transparency for investors and stakeholders while enhancing their trust by demonstrating the Company’s strong and ongoing commitment to sustainability. As a result, it supports the mobilisation of public and private sector funding, making it easier to secure earmarked capital for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
New Sources considers green finance frameworks essential for driving the energy transition to a low-carbon economy that actually realises environmental goals. Leading Second-Party Opinion (SPO) provider Morningstar Sustainalytics has been engaged to certify New Sources’ Framework in Q2-2025.
