Veidekke: Major contract at NTNU for Statsbygg
13 May 2025 16:29 CEST
Issuer
Veidekke ASA
After a one year interaction phase, Veidekke has signed a contract today with
Statsbygg to build the new Insitute of Materials Science and Engineering (P2) at
NTNU in Trondheim. The commission is a design and build contract with a value of
NOK 680 million, excluding VAT.
"Now we have developed the project further in close and good cooperation with
Statsbygg, NTNU and other users of the building. This planning and coordination
has been crucial to identify challenges, find good solutions and ensure that the
project is carried out in an optimal manner for all parties. We really
appreciate the confidence shown in us and are looking forward to starting the
construction work," says Regional Director Torgeir Wiig with Veidekke Bygg
Trøndelag.
The new building will be 13,200 m2 in size across 10 floors and will accommodate
just over 200 NTNU employees, SINTEF Industri, external partners and more than
300 students in five academic years. The building will have good laboratories
and modern infrastructure that support the activity in the research and teaching
environments of the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering and partners.
The project has defined sustainability goals in the areas of greenhouse gas
emissions, energy and load balancing, site qualities, circular economy and
social sustainability.
Construction work starts in a few weeks, and completion is scheduled for
December 2027. This commission is included in Veidekke's order book for Q2.
