Oslo, Norway - 14 February 2025 - Oslo Tingrett has announced a verdict in the
lawsuit WWF filed against the Norwegian State for the opening decision for
mineral activities on the Norwegian continental shelf. WWF claims that the State
is violating the Seabed Minerals Act §2-2 and that the opening decision made by
the Storting with an 80/20 majority on 9 January 2024 is invalid.
Oslo Tingrett´s verdict is in the favour of the State.
Green Minerals is pleased with the verdict in Oslo Tingrett. The company will
continue to work towards the first licensing round and expected awards in
2Q/2026 and will in due time also prepare the necessary project-specific impact
assessment demonstrating that seabed mining can be done in a sustainable and
responsible manner
