Veidekke: To build new nursing and care facility in Södertälje, Sweden

Veidekke ASA
Veidekke has been contracted by Telge Fastigheter to build new care homes in
Södertälje's Lina district. The design and build contract, with an order value
of SEK 256.5 million, was awarded Veidekke following a public procurement
process.
The municipal council made the decision to build the new nursing and care
facility in March 2024. Design work will start in January this year, and the
project is scheduled for completion in mid-2027.
"We are now finally starting the next phase in the development of this important
project for Södertälje. Veidekke has submitted an offer that meets the
requirements of our request, and we look forward to working together to realise
this modern care facility project," says Tobias Stridsberg at Telge Fastigheter.
The project is part of Södertälje Municipality's plans to improve the housing
supply in Lina and meet the need for nursing and care homes in the area. The new
facility will be located close to Lina city center, residential areas and
nature.
The assignment comprises a five-storey building including basement, as well as
installations and foundation works. The building will accommodate around 80
apartments adapted to the target group's needs, as well as a commercial kitchen,
indoor and outdoor common areas and parking for cars and bicycles. The building
will be built as three separate bodies joined by a central stairwell, providing
good daylight throughout the building. The gross area is 7,800 square meters,
and the building will be certified to the Miljöbyggnad 3.1 Silver standard.
- We are very pleased to have been entrusted with this project. Veidekke has
extensive experience in building community buildings such as senior housing. We
now look forward to providing Södertälje's elderly with modern, high-quality
homes, based on the latest practice, says Frida Täcklind at Veidekke.
The contract is included in the order book for Q1 2025.
