Oslo, Norway - December 12, 2024 - Smartoptics, a leading provider of optical
networking solutions, today announced the launch of its latest amplifiers, the
DCP-F-VG Variable Gain Amplifier and the DCP-F-RA Raman Amplifier. These new
additions empower network operators to build larger, high-performance networks
spanning longer distances, making them ideal for today's bandwidth-intensive
applications and future network expansions.
"We are once again expanding our product portfolio making it possible for us to
increasingly accommodate the requirements of large networks based on next
generation open line systems. With a very cost efficient and flexible offering,
we experience strong traction in these segments," said Kent Lidström, CTO of
Smartoptics.
The DCP-F-VG and DCP-F-RA amplifiers complement Smartoptics' DCP-R34 ROADM,
enabling performance-optimized, high-capacity networks that reach across greater
distances. Together, this powerful trio provides network operators with a fully
scalable solution to meet dense data demands while laying the groundwork for
future, expansive network designs.
The new amplifiers bring advanced capabilities to optical networks, enhancing
both performance and reach. The DCP-F-VG offers variable gain control for
precise amplification, ensuring signal quality across varying spans with
seamless integration into the DCP-2 chassis. The DCP-F-RA Raman Amplifier is
specifically designed for long-haul applications, delivering robust
amplification that extends transmission distances minimizing the need for
additional intermediate amplifiers. Together, these amplifiers enable flexible,
cost-effective network expansion for performance-driven, large-scale
configurations.
"Our new amplifiers, the DCP-F-VG and DCP-F-RA, represent a significant leap
forward in our mission to deliver accessible, high-performance open optical
networking," said Lidström. "They're engineered to address the growing demand
for scalable, flexible, and robust long-distance networks. Combined with our DCP
-R34 ROADM, these products offer a complete toolkit for creating larger, high
-capacity networks that support a broader range of applications and deliver the
reliability our customers depend on."
