Veidekke has entered into an agreement to acquire 46% of the shares in ESAM Møre
AS. The company is in the process of establishing Alvika Miljøpark, which will
receive, process and sell surplus material from construction activities in the
Ålesund region.

"We are looking forward to developing Alvika Miljøpark together with Aco Anlegg
AS, Svinø Entreprenør AS and Blindheim Maskin and Transport AS. This will be the
county's largest material reception facility and plant for reusing surplus
material. Veidekke has broad expertise in the operation of rock crushing plants
and reception facilities, well supported by internal environmental resources.
Along with the current owners, we will ensure sound operation and finances for
the facility and at the same time develop associated activities in the area,"
says Director Kari H. Berntsen of Veidekke Geomaterialer.

The opportunity to offer customers both the delivery of surplus material and the
purchase of crushed stone and gravel in the central Ålesund area will have major
environmental benefits in terms of shorter transport distances and optimisation
of the value chain. Market activity in the region is good, and much activity is
expected in the years ahead as well.

"Since 1972, we have operated Ålesund Massesenter where we sell crushed stone
and gravel to local asphalt producers and contractors for around NOK 50 million
a year. Alvika Miljøpark will be an important addition to take further steps
towards the recycling of excavated material, reuse and a circular economy. In
addition, the three other owners of the company have been customers of our
material centre for many years and are well known in the local market," Berntsen
concludes.
