Atea earns new ranking among world's most sustainable companies

OSLO -Atea today announced it has earned prestigious recognition as one of the
"World's Most Sustainable Companies 2024," based on a new ranking by global
media brand TIME (https://time.com), and Statista
R (https://r.statista.com/en/), a world leader in top lists produced via market
research and data analysis. This endeavour is a first-time partnership between
the two groups: selecting from over 5,000 companies the top 500 for this
important recognition.
Each firm is preliminarily assessed on revenue, market capitalization and public
prominence, and then undergoes a rigorous four-step process involving over 20
key data points, including: CDP score, alignment with GRI and SASB, as well as
emissions and energy intensity.
The winning companies are based in more than 30 countries: most of which are
headquartered in the US (111), followed by Japan (44) and the UK (35).
Atea's CEO, Steinar Sønsteby, welcomed this new recognition: "Year after year,
we work hard to deliver on our mission as "The Place to Be" for our customers,
employees and partners. Our sustainability efforts are an integral part of that
work. As a proudly Scandinavian company, we are especially honored to have our
efforts in this area recognized as being among the world's best. This ranking
and the selection process sets a benchmark for others to follow."
OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:
· In 2024, for the third consecutive year, Atea was ranked one of the world's
top-100 most sustainable companies by the well-respected research and media
company Corporate Knights.
· Atea was recently recognized for leadership in corporate transparency and
performance on climate change by global environmental non-profit CDP, earning a
place on its annual "A List."
· For the fifth consecutive year, Atea has earned platinum rating on
environmental and social performance by EcoVadis, placing Atea among the top 1%
of more than 130,000 companies evaluated.
