Småkraft has appointed Pia Christine Helland as new Chief Financial Officer
(CFO), succeeding Erik Røysem Sterud, who is stepping down after seven years in
the position, to take on a CFO role in a different industry.
"Pia Christine has an impressive professional and academical background, and she
has throughout her career demonstrated great competence and results within areas
like debt financing, M&A, Equity as well as sustainable financing. With her
strong passion for the energy solutions of the future, she will be a great
contributor to our team,” said Terje Vedeler, CEO of Småkraft.
Pia Christine Helland (born 1976) joins Småkraft from Danske Bank, where she is
the Head of Business Banking, region Western Norway. Previously, she worked 19
years in DNB Bank, holding various corporate client advisory roles and
management positions including focus on sustainable financing, ESG and energy
transition solutions. She also has a background in corporate finance at Carnegie
and Credit Suisse First Boston. Helland holds a MSc in Economics and Business
Administration (siviløkonom) from NHH and a Master of Law (Cand. Jur) degree

“When this opportunity came up, I simply couldn’t resist. I am truly looking
forward to joining Småkraft, using my experience from many years in corporate
banking focusing on the green energy transition. Småkraft has a strong track
record with regards to value creation for local communities, landowners, society
at large and financial investors, and I am eager to become a part of the
Småkraft family,” said Pia Christine Helland.
Helland will start in her new position 12 August 2024, as Erik Røysem Sterud

“Erik has played a huge and instrumental role in establishing Småkraft as an
important contributor to the increased production of renewable energy in Norway
and Sweden. During his seven years tenure, Småkraft has made countless
acquisitions, raised significant amounts of capital in the domestic and
international markets, and reinforced our robust finance organization. On behalf
