SmartCraft ASA (SMCRT) - Finnish construction industry: Digitalization boosts productivity and improves control

1 July 2024: Digital tools are becoming increasingly integrated into the
construction industry's daily operations. The most common reasons for using
specialized software in the construction industry are to save time, increase
efficiency, and improve control. One third of companies plan to increase their
investments in digital tools. These are key findings in SmartCraft's Digimeter
Finland 2024 survey.
The report shows that even though a significant share of construction companies
has started using digital tools for various back-office work processes, there is
significant room for increased digitalization out in the field. This even
applies for processes such as customer management, offers handling,
calculations, time management, and project management.
"We know that efficient and tailored tools can improve profitability, control
and upsell opportunities for craftsmen out in the field. Therefore, it is
striking to see that such a vast number of tasks are being solved by general
tools like Excel or Word out in the field. The findings correspond well with our
formerly published reports from Sweden, confirming that best-of-breed software
will continue to play a vital role in improving the business and making life
easier for construction companies and their employees going forward," said CEO
of SmartCraft Gustav Line.
About the Digimeter
The Digimeter is an annual survey of the construction industry's digitization.
The Finland 2024 report is based on 626 survey responses among a random
selection of companies of varying sizes and areas within the construction
industry in Finland.
