The new anti-dandruff ingredient. Zinc Pyrithione classified as prohibited substance.
Rotterdam - The Netherlands (April 14, 2022) - With effect from March 1, 2022, the European Commission added several chemicals to the list of prohibited substances for Annex I and Annex VI (Commission Delegated Regulation 2020/1182). One of the substances that has been added to aforementioned list is the toxic substance Zinc Pyrithione (“ZP”). As a result, it is prohibited to use ZP in all EU materials, whether cosmetic or industrial, due to its reproductive toxicity.
For over 60 years ZP has been used as an effective anti-dandruff agent in shampoos. Now this is no longer permitted, many people will lose their favorite product to treat their skin against dandruff.
Parx Materials developed a biocompatible, non-toxic and 100% safe technology, which is highly suitable to replace ZP as anti-dandruff agent. The technology is bio-derived integrating a trace element with the utmost biological importance and crucial for our skins health. Clinical trials already showed that the technology is 100% effective as anti-dandruff agent. It is particularly suitable for the manufacture of anti-dandruff shampoos and hair care products such as hair tonics and cream rinses.
About Parx Materials Parx Materials NV, founded in 2012 and a public company since 2018, listed on Euronext Access in Paris with symbol: MLPRX, has build-up an extensive knowledge on remedies against bacteria, viruses, biofilm, molds and fouling.
