BANCO BPI

Banco BPI is one of the most important Portuguese banking groups. Its activities are organized into four areas:

• retail banking: sales of traditional banking and specialized financial services and products via a network of 882 branches located in Portugal (697), Angola (114), and Mozambique (71);
• investment, financial, and market banking: consulting for merger-acquisitions, investment capital, specialized financing (for projects, acquisitions, etc.), stock brokerage, capital market activities, etc.;
• private banking;
• asset management: EUR15.7 billion in assets managed for third parties at the end of 2009.

At the end of 2009, the group managed EUR22.6 billion in current deposits and EUR29.9 billion in current credits.
Portugal accounts for 71.2% of revenues.
