Arkema is one of the world's leaders in the development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical products. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:

• industrial chemical products (47.5%): resins, emulsions for adhesives, surface coating products, absorbents, monomers, polymerization agents, fluorinated coolants, oxygenated water, etc.;
• performance products (29.7%): polymers, additives, polymerization catalysts, cross-linking agents, resins, fungicides, pesticides, intermediate products, etc. intended primarily for the agriculture, aeronautics, and building sectors;
• vinyl products (22.6%): polyvinyl chlorides (PVC), chloride products, solvents, cooling and dielectric fluids, vinyl components (for wiring in the automotive, medical, and other sectors), tubes and profiles;
• other (0,2%).

At the end of 2009, the group had more than 80 production sites throughout the world.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe (54%), North America (24%), Asia (18%) and other (4%).
