Sept 1 (Reuters) - Tesla's new car registrations in Portugal fell by 36.5% in August from a year ago to 148 units, even as new registrations of light electric vehicles grew by 65.2%, the country's automobile industry association ACAP said on Tuesday.

In the January-August period, Tesla sales in Portugal rose by 41.4% to 6,512 units, while the total for all light electric cars rose by 43.1%, it said.
