Deutsche Telekom to buy Poland's Fiberhost and Inea for €1 billion

Aug 17 (Reuters) - Deutsche Telekom said on Monday it had agreed to buy Polish network operator Fiberhost and retail broadband and TV provider Inea from Macquarie Asset Management for €1 billion ($1.16 billion).

The acquisition will advance Deutsche Telekom's Polish unit T-Mobile Polska's transformation from a mobile-only operator into a fully converged telecom provider and is subject to customary Polish competition approvals, the company said in a statement.

The transaction is expected to reach financial close at the end of 2026, Macquarie said in a statement.

"We thank both management teams for their partnership and look forward to seeing both businesses continue to build on this strong foundation under Deutsche Telekom's stewardship," Macquarie Asset Management Managing Director Cord von Lewinski said.

Deutsche Telekom said the acquisition would accelerate T-Mobile Polska's growth by adding more than 300,000 Inea customers and Fiberhost's network, which passes over 1.4 million homes.
