Saudi's Flynas firms up order for 25 additional Airbus jets
FARNBOROUGH, England, July 22 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabian budget carrier Flynas firmed up an order for 25 additional Airbus aircraft on Wednesday, adding to a wave of purchases by the kingdom's airlines as they expand fleets to support Saudi Arabia's tourism and economic diversification goals.
The order takes Flynas' total firm commitment with Airbus to 235 aircraft, underscoring Saudi Arabia's emergence as one of the aviation industry's fastest-growing markets.
The airline confirmed orders for five additional Airbus A330-900 widebody jets and 20 A321neo aircraft.
The latest deal increases Flynas' A330neo commitment to 20 aircraft and its A321neo order book to 56 jets.
The agreement follows a series of major Saudi aircraft purchases, including Riyadh Air's order for 34 widebody aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, as the kingdom presses ahead with plans to expand passenger traffic and international connectivity.
Flynas currently operates a fleet of 67 Airbus aircraft, comprising two A330-300s, four A320ceos and 61 A320neos.
