Oct 12 (Reuters) - German unicorn 1Komma5Grad was valued at $1.35 billion in its latest financing round as it ramps up investments in its energy AI business.

The startup said it will invest more than 100 million euros ($111.90 million) in its energy AI, named Heartbeat, in 2027.

• 1Komma5Grad, which defines itself as a home electrification company, through its Heartbeat AI aims to automate processes such as energy trading, billing, and metering

• CEO Philipp Schroeder said 1Komma5Grad is planning to expand business into the United States from next year

• "We're considering entering the US, because we've seen how much drive and how much interest from investors is actually behind that," Schroeder said in an interview with Reuters

• Schroeder confirmed the company's performance in 2027 will be key in deciding when 1Komma5Grad is to make the decision on when and if to launch an initial public offering in the United States.

• The company had shelved its US IPO plans in 2025 as President Donald Trump's renewable energy and trade policies roiled markets

• 1Komma5Grad in September confirmed its aim to reach a revenue of around $750 million for the 2026 financial year
