LONDON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Wednesday that he is prepared to take difficult decisions to ensure the economy remains on track, after UK inflation rose to a five-month high as a result of the Iran War.

"We will take difficult decisions to make sure the economy remains on track," Burnham told reporters.

He said that while the rise in inflation to 3.1% in August was "a concern", the underlying picture was one of "resilience" in the economy.
