ESG ACHIEVEMENTS AND GOALS

Gimv’s ambition is to Build Leading Companies that are active in 5 society oriented investment areas: Consumer, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Smart Industries and Sustainable Cities. It is our sincere conviction that leading companies create solutions for the challenges of both economy and society, thereby delivering value to all stakeholders and contributing to building a a prosperous society.

Thus, as a responsible investor, we consider sustainability as an integral part of our investment activities. We have implemented a responsible investing policy and set up an internal ESG governance ensuring access to all levels within the organisation and oversight by the board of directors. ESG is a permanent topic in the dialogue with our companies. This dialogue is since two years also data-driven via an annual ESG survey measuring the ESG maturity of our companies. For example, as part of this dialogue, we have actively encourage companies in the past year to act on decarbonization by conducting or starting with a first carbon footprint.

As a responsible company, we have implemented as one of the first private equity companies a sustainable finance framework under which we have issued a sustainable bond, integrating sustainability in our financing. Also, we have implemented in 2022 a Gimv Climate Plan that comprises of 3 pillars: Sustainable Mobility (electrification of our car fleet and providing alternative mobility options for Gimv employees), Sustainable Infrastructure (energy efficiency in the several Gimv offices) and Sustainable Operations. This plan was updated in 2024 with a more ambitious reduction target for Gimv's own scope 1 & 2 emissions, more specifically a reduction of Gimv's own scope 1 & 2 emissions with 70% by 2030 compared to the year of first measurement being FY 2019-20.  For the latest emission figures, please consult the sustainability page of Gimv's website
