Siltronic raises sales outlook as 300 mm wafer demand stays strong
By Ozan Ergenay
July 30 (Reuters) - German semiconductor materials supplier Siltronic on Thursday slightly raised its annual sales guidance, citing stronger wafer-area sales as demand for advanced 300 mm wafers remained robust.
The company now expects 2026 revenue to decline by a low-to-mid single-digit percentage versus the previous year, compared with an earlier forecast for a mid-single-digit decline.
It also expects a significant increase in wafer-area sales this year.
"During H1, our business developed in line with our expectations. We are encouraged by the continued strong demand for 300 mm wafers," CEO Michael Heckmeier said.
Siltronic reported second-quarter sales of 321.6 million euros, broadly in line with analysts' expectations of 322.3 million euros, according to LSEG data.
Analysts at Jefferies said the company's results were slightly ahead of expectations, helped by stronger volumes, adding that signs of recovery in the 200 mm wafer market and stabilising prices should support sentiment.
Shares were little changed in early trading.
