Daimler Truck launches new defence brand backed by multimillion-euro investment
BERLIN, June 15 (Reuters) - Daimler Truck plans to expand its defence business in the coming years with a new branding effort and hundreds of millions of euros in investment, the company said on Monday.
• The German truck maker will bundle its global defence activities under the umbrella brand Daimler Truck Defence, it said in a statement
• In future, the portfolio will include solutions from other Daimler Truck brands, as well as its unit Mercedes-Benz Trucks
• Daimler Truck announced investments worth a mid-range sum in the hundreds of millions of euros for development, production, sales and services
• The company is targeting defence revenue of a billion euros by 2028
• Around 1,000 people are employed in this area at Daimler Truck, with its site at Woerth am Rhein in particular to hire skilled workers
