Citi hires Ryan Beaupré as MD in consumer and retail investment banking push
By Abigail Summerville
NEW YORK, June 11 (Reuters) - Citigroup has made another hire this week to strengthen its consumer and retail investment banking group, with Ryan Beaupré joining as a managing director, according to a memo seen by Reuters on Thursday. A spokesperson from Citi confirmed the contents of the memo.
THE PEOPLE
• Beaupré will drive coverage across the food and drug retail, convenience, and food distribution sectors.
• He most recently was an MD at UBS covering consumer and retail verticals since 2023. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Credit Suisse.
• He will join the New York office in September and report to Stacia Ryan, Citi's head of consumer and retail.
• UBS declined to comment.
THE CONTEXT
• Citi also hired Andrew Conway this week as its global chair of consumer and retail investment banking, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
• "Ryan's appointment underscores our commitment to further strengthen our consumer and retail franchise and expand our retail footprint. His deep client relationships, sector expertise, and proven track record across advisory and capital markets will be instrumental in driving growth and expanding our market share," Stacia Ryan said in the memo.
• Citi landed an advisory role on the biggest consumer deal of the year so far. It advised spice-maker McCormick on its landmark $65 billion agreement to buy Unilever's food business.
