Cambi India Private Limited has signed a contract to supply India's first
thermal hydrolysis process (THP) systems to the Municipal Corporation of Greater
Mumbai (MCGM) at the Versova wastewater treatment plant. DRN Infrastructure, a
large and experienced Indian construction and engineering company, will build
the project.

At Versova the thermal hydrolysis will improve the processing of the biological
sludge, on which it is most effective, reducing required anaerobic digester
volume up to 2/3 and improve energy yields. The THP installation will also
improve the overall dryness of the final biosolids product, reducing its volume
significantly. The nutrient-rich biosolids meet the requirements in the US EPA
503 Regulation for Class A biosolids, which means they can be safely recycled to
land, benefiting Mumbai's circular economy and farmers' crop yields, and
completely avoiding the risk of spreading diseases. It has the added benefit of
significantly reducing biosolids odour, cost of storage and climate emissions.

The THP units will be manufactured to withstand Mumbai's hot and wet coastal
climate, ensuring longevity and reliability. Cambi will also supply digester
coolers and steam boilers. The contract includes comprehensive operational
support and maintenance services from Cambi, ensuring long-term operational
stability and efficiency.

Per Lilleboe, CEO of Cambi, expressed his enthusiasm about the project:

"I am very pleased that Cambi will soon deliver its first project in India. We
look forward to partnering with DRN Infrastructure and the Municipal Corporation
of Greater Mumbai on a transformative project for Mumbai.

Integrating thermal hydrolysis at the Versova wastewater treatment plant is a
significant step for Cambi's mission to facilitate a swift transition to
sustainable urban communities in India through innovative infrastructure
solutions. It is an honour to become part of Mumbai’s current efforts to clean
its wastewater and help harness the full power of anaerobic digestion by
delivering our thermal hydrolysis technology, to address climate, circular
economy, and energy challenges."
