Reference is made to the stock exchange notice earlier today that the
supervisory board of SpareBank 1 SMN has approved the merger with SpareBank 1
Søre Sunnmøre. SpareBank 1 SMN has just been informed that the general meeting
of SpareBank 1 Søre Sunnmøre has made a corresponding decision.

The implementation of the merger is still conditional upon the necessary
approvals from authorities and contracting parties on acceptable terms. The
merger is contemplated to be finalized in the second quarter of 2023.
