Sapmer is one of France's leading industrial fishing companies. The group specializes in toothfish, lobster and tuna fishing.
Activities are carried out in the exclusive economic zone of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, in accordance with strict regulations that issue fishing licences and allocate catch quotas to French shipowners in the zone for toothfish and lobster. Tuna fishing is carried out in the Indian Ocean.
At the end of 2023, the group had a fleet of 15 vessels, including 9 freezer tuna seiners, 4 freezer longliners, 1 freezer casey trawler and 1 patrol boat.
