Orkla Snacks announces the sale of Nói-Síríus
26 Mar 2026 11:00 CET
Issuer
ORKLA ASA
Orkla Snacks has entered into an agreement to sell 100% of the shares in
Nói-Síríus HF ("Nói-Síríus"), the leading manufacturer of chocolate and
confectionery in Iceland to Alfa Framtak.
Orkla acquired 20% of the shares in Nói-Síríus in 2019, and the remaining 80%
in 2021. In 2025, the company had a turnover of NOK 427m and an EBIT of NOK
48m.
At the 2023 Capital Markets Day, Orkla Snacks presented the company's strategy
to unlock growth potential in hero brands through much sharper portfolio
prioritization. Although Nói-Síríus has performed well, its strategic fit with
the broader Orkla Snacks portfolio is limited and adds structural complexity.
"I want to thank the entire Nói-Síríus team for a successful collaboration
over several years. I am confident that Alfa Framtak will continue to support
the company's positive trajectory, and I wish everyone at Nói-Síríus the very
best for the future," says Orkla Snacks CEO Ingvill Tarberg Berg.
The sale is expected to be closed during the second quarter of 2026 pending
approvals from the Icelandic competition authorities. The parties have agreed
to keep the purchase price confidential.
