Cambi signs THP engineering contract with PC Construction for a project in Virginia, USA
27 Jan 2026 14:46 CET
Issuer
Cambi ASA
Cambi has signed an engineering contract with PC Construction Company for a
thermal hydrolysis process (THP) system planned in the state of Virginia. The
contract value is below Cambi's threshold for stock exchange announcements on
Euronext Growth Oslo.
The agreement covers design services for a Progressive Design-Build (PDB)
project. A PDB project begins with Cambi providing a limited-scope of early
design, engineering, and technical advisory services while collaborating with
the owner and design-builder to refine the scope, performance requirements, and
cost. Once a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) is agreed and the owner issues a
Notice to Proceed (NTP), Cambi transitions into its standard equipment supply
and delivery obligations under a conventional contract structure.
PC Construction is teamed with Stantec as the design-builder. Cambi will deliver
THP engineering services and support integration of the system with new
anaerobic digesters that will treat solids from several jurisdictions.
Cambi has worked with PC Construction on major THP projects in the United
States, including DC Water's Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in
Washington, DC, and WSSC Water's Piscataway Bioenergy Facility in Maryland.
Per Lillebø, CEO of Cambi, remarked: "This project is an important step toward
more sustainable wastewater solids treatment in Virginia. We are grateful for
the trust and pleased to support PC Construction with THP engineering, building
on our experience together from previous THP projects in the United States."
The NTP and construction contract are expected to follow the engineering phase,
with operations of the THP system delivered by Cambi planned to start in 2030.
