Three-year national roaming agreement with Lyse in Norway
01 Oct 2024 08:30 CEST
Issuer
Telenor ASA
Lyse Tele AS and Telenor Norway AS have agreed to enter into a three-year
agreement on national roaming. The agreement is based on Telenor’s regulatory
obligation to meet reasonable requests for access to the mobile network and
gives the customers of Lyse Tele (Ice) the opportunity to roam on Telenor
Norway's mobile network where Lyse Tele does not have own mobile coverage. Lyse
Tele will gradually transfer its roaming traffic to Telenor during the first
three quarters of 2025. Over the course of the three-year period from 2025-2027,
Lyse Tele will continue to build out its own mobile network. Based on traffic
forecasts from Lyse Tele, we estimate wholesale revenues for Telenor Norway of
approximately NOK 1 billion during 2025, 2026 and 2027. The indicative phasing
of the revenues will be approximately NOK 0.4bn in 2025, NOK 0.4bn in 2026 and
NOK 0.2bn in 2027. The revenues could differ from these forecasts depending on
Lyse Tele’s actual traffic volume development.
